Learning from old and near-forgotten goldsmithing techniques and interpreting them within a contemporary context is one of the primary goals of this project.
Curated by the Technical Museums in Berlin and Pforzheim, this project has also become a part UNESCO Worldheritage.
By implementing customized engraving tools, the traditional techniques of producing guilloches were applied to marble stone. Geometric patterns crafted using these means are highlighted using LED technology. The onboard sensors respond to movement, light or volume – placing the wearer of the jewellery pieces into a new context within the environment.
