Pushing Daisies - When do materials die? What do they become? When and how does a shift in values manifest itself?

Glass and plastic - two man-made, synthetic materials which couldn‘t be more similar, yet different at the same time. Pushing boundaries in terms of their individual and combined materiality took Franziska Vogts‘ design research into the realms of material science.

If glass – once precious and valuable – no longer is, could plastic one day become precious and valuable? Her graduate work examines this shift in values through a kind of negative conservation.
